There's a requirement to default specific financial dimension to specific value on purchase lines from AP parameters. So there are total 8 financial dimensions appeared on purchase order and they need to default only two of them. So I created a DefaultDimension field in PurchParameters table and modified form and it shows all 8 dimensions while I need only two of them to show to the user and hide the other 6 of them and default only those two on purchase lines.
Can I show only specific dimensions based on financial dimension set?
Changing anything in account structure or ledger will be a big change.
Hi AR01,
The default dimension control will show all dimensions which are activated for that legal entity. You can only present two if you create own controls and manage the storage of the default dimension reference value yourself.
As this is parameters form which will not be used daily, I would suggest using the standard framework as this takes care of the correct default dimension field value. Then only specify two dimensions out of the eight.
Creating your own controls will take much longer to develop and you have a risk introducing bugs.
Hello André Arnaud de Calavon,
Thanks for your valuable input. I agree with you and I managed to agree the client over this. Moreover I found these two parm methods. I will check this and update here.
DimensionEntryControl.parmEditableDimensionSet()
DimensionEntryControl.parmDisplayedDimensionSet()
