Updating wait timer in Real Time Marketing journey

Is there any way to update the date specified in the wait timer for the current audience? Not only for the new audience. 

Updating creates a new version and is not affecting the audience already in the journey.

I want to delay the first reminder mail with one week then specified before. Only able to stop the current journey and create a new one for the reminders?

    This may be a design issue,

    where the journey being modified cannot have an impact on past users:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/real-time-marketing-edit-journey

    You can create a copy of an older version, make changes to it and publish it.
