We need to setup a method in preauthorizing items for customers to take offsite and if they like the item they will then purchase it. Our pinpad provider has a bridge to RMS and there is a feature to enter a "force post". Our provider states that RMS is missing something to make this work. Any advice appreciated. RMS is setup for a retail environment and to have a transaction fully paid for upon completion. What you can do though, is get a voice authorization from the credit card company by using the card as a credit card and not a debit. Then at the time of sale enter the card number, expiration, cvv, and auth code manually in the credit card prompt. This will then process the card.
The problem comes with storage of that information. PCI compliance regulations dictate the methods of storage. Furthermore RMS does not have an internal compliant method for card storage for later usage. It only have the temporary storage that is compliant until you settle your batch.
You might need to look into a third party addon, like what Shift4, paypros, or bridgepay.
