we are using GP 2010. in previous version, when we added an employee, the local tax would be added by default. not the case after the upgrade to 2010. any ideas?

Thanks for your post.
Did you have some sort of customization in place before the upgrade that populated the local taxes for new employees? Make sure all payroll customizations are in place that you had in your prior version.
