Dears ,

we have completed our code upgrade on LCS and mapped our VM VS repository to the devops metadata and projects as per below screen

and applied get latest to reflect the localpackagesdirectory from the main folder on devops.

there is many elements and models were created under default models like (application suite )

what is the best practice to do the upgrade ? usually we copy the XML files under the export folder and paste them under the new model created and build it, but here we have several projects created and am not sure what or how to start with them .

You need to deal with objects in CodeMergeSolution (require merging) and UnparsableSolution (need revision and decision what to do, depending on the problem).

thank you Martin, what about all the custom models that were created in the default models (application suite, application foundation, etc ..) as per below shall they need to be deleted and copied to new created model from VS?

and can i disregard those projects and work with export model and copy all the XML files to a new model and work with them ?

    Thank you,

You must redesign all overlayering to extensions. Just copying files won't normally do the job.

Thank you Martin, we are currently working on codemergesolution, we are moving all custom models from default models to localpackagesdirectory, since they were created by the LCS code upgrade inside the default models, is this the right way ? then can we merge all those created models into one or two models ?

    Thank you,

    Hi Mohammad,

You can create as much models as you want based on your design.

Check this link before creating a model

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/dev-tools/models#conceptual-overview

The new model(s) should contain all the extensions and new custom codes that has been over layered.

    Check these links

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/extensibility/customization-overlayering-extensions
