needing help with updating modified reports

I am going to be upgrading Great Plains from 2013 to 2016 soon. Currently, I'm testing the upgrade process on a test server. I am to the point where I use GP utilities to update modified forms and reports. We only have a shared reports.dic file in use so I copied that to the test server. When I tried to update modified forms and reports, it said complete but I found these items in the log.

Can someone explain what the above messages mean and let me know if I need to fix anything to move the upgrade forward?

    You can go into Report Writer for the module/feature that you want to remove the modified report from, and in the list of modified reports, highlight the report and choose the 'Delete' button to remove it.

    Make backups of your reports dictionary files before doing this. You may also want to make a package file containing everything in the Customization Maintenance window, or at least the reports, before doing this.

    Thank you for the reply.

    How do I go into report writer and remove that report? I would be sure to take a complete backup before I do this in case I run into any issue.

    If you still have the prior Dynamics GP system, you could potentially go into Report Writer and delete this modified report that is causing the errors but is not used any longer, then try upgrading the modified reports dictionary files, through Utilities, to the new version of Dynamics GP and see if that works better.

    Otherwise, you could generate a package file omitting this one modified report that isn't used, then use the package file on the new system which will create the modified forms/reports dictionary files 'on-the-fly' at the new version.

    I just talked with the user and they confirmed the above report isn't used. If that is the case, can I simply ignore this and move forward with the update or will this cause an issue some other way?

    To add to what Mariano mentioned, we would recommend to make a package file from the Customization Maintenance window of all your modified forms and reports, along with VBA objects before doing any type of upgrade, because if you run into an issue where the 'Update Modified Forms and Reports' process in Utilities doesn't work or a forms/reports dictionary is corrupted so it can't be read (though we should have backups of those as well), a package file will allow us to at least import into the new version of Dynamics GP and will create those forms and reports dictionary files 'on the fly' at the new version, then you can verify the modified forms and reports still work.

    Another reason is that while we can manually import modified reports into Report Writer from a dictionary and create a dictionary at the new version, if Utilities should not work for us, we cannot manually import modified forms into Modifier the same way and produce a forms dictionary at the new version.

    So, backups of the forms/reports dictionary files are important when upgrading, as well as a package file of everything listed in the Customization Maintenance window of the GP version you're upgrading from.

    This is a modified report and the Dynamics GP Utilities is attempting to upgrade it as part of the upgrade process. The modified report seems to be corrupt as there are a number of calculations referencing a non-existing table - did you export a package file of the customizations prior to the upgrade? If so, you may be able to recover the changes from the package file. Since you mention this being a test upgrade, perhaps you can locate this report in your production environment, export a package file using the Customization Maintenance window, then import it into your upgraded test environment to see if it works.
