Hi All

Is there a way to over receive purchase order by more than 100% as it looks like BC doesn't allow allow a percentage more than 100%? Can we customise this

    Hi @Samantha73

100% is the system limit.  I think you could create a customisation to add your own over receipt code.

    Kind Regards

Yes, standard Business Central hardcodes a maximum limit of 100% for the Over-Receipt Tolerance % field, meaning you cannot natively configure an over-receipt code to exceed that threshold. To bypass or exceed this restriction, you would need to customize the solution through AL extension development—specifically by modifying table extensions and page logic for the over-receipt code table to remove the validation check capping it at 100%, and adjusting the receiving validation triggers accordingly. Alternatively, an easier out-of-the-box workaround without code modifications is to simply manually add a new line or adjust the quantity directly on the purchase order before receiving.          unipass login

    Hello Samantha,

Standard Business Central limits Over-Receipt Tolerance % to 100%, meaning an order for 100 units can be over-received by up to another 100 units (200 total); Microsoft documents that quantities above the configured tolerance are rejected. You can customize the behavior, but the standard field’s MaxValue validation cannot simply be relaxed through a table extension because MaxValue is not an extensible property, so you would need custom receipt/tolerance logic (for example, a separate custom tolerance field plus validation around Purchase Lines/Warehouse Receipts). However, if receiving more than double the ordered quantity is a legitimate business scenario rather than an exception, I would normally recommend increasing the Purchase Order quantity or adding another PO line instead of bypassing the standard tolerance control, as this keeps purchasing commitments, approvals, receipts, and invoicing aligned.

A simple solution is to increase the Quantity on the PO line before you receive it, to the amount that will be over received. This can be done manually or could be done programmatically.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, this can only be achieved through customization. Alternatively, you can submit this feature request to Microsoft.

Hi, as far as I know no, the Over-Receipt Tolerance % on the Over-Receipt Codes page stops at 100, it's a limit on the field itself. So the most you can take in with the standard function is double the ordered quantity.

If you receive more than twice the order, that isn't a tolerance any more, it's a different order. What we do is just Reopen the PO and raise the Quantity on the line, or add a second line, then release and receive. If you have approvals on purchase orders it goes through approval again, which is probably correct for such a jump.

Customising is possible but not as simple as lifting the 100. I don't think a table extension can change the max value of a standard field, so a developer would need an own field and hook into the over-receipt check through events, better to confirm what is available in your version.

Glad to help - follow up if anything is unclear.

►  If this solved it, marking it verified helps others too.
