lets assume you have an store/ shop for Books and the customer can choose if he wants the receive the book in printed or a eBook.
Is it possible to setup up NAVto fulfill the eMail shippment?
Would you handle the ebook as "classic" sale or would you just end up adding an activity? Let's alos assume that the books are free of charge.

You are right. It is a customization.
As per your requirement, when you close the order a.k.a ship/invoice the order, if the shipping method is eMail, we can trigger it to create an eMail, with the Sales header/lines, attach the specific eBook(s) and send it to the customer.
In addition to the customization, we need to keep a reference (possibly a table) of which ebook(s) to be attached corresponding to the sales line(s) and the path of eBooks (.pdf) has been stored.

thanks for your reply. I'm quite not sure if I expressed myself right to cover my point...
So I intended that e.g. when the Order is processed to be a posted delivery and e.g. the shipping method is eMail the guys from the warehouse wont get a delivery note to pack, instead NAV itself creates the email, attaches the document from sales order lines and sends the mail and closes the order...
I fairly guess it needs to be programmed/ customized, but in general if NAV is able to be programmed like this...
Currently my question is more a kind of "proof-of-concept".

You can setup NAV in order to send emails when you create a Sales Order/Invoice.

When you raise and post the Sales Order/Invoice, you can trigger to send an email to the customer with the ebook attachment.
