bump !
Thanks BadrinathB
The article didn't really explain the details of what I am really curious about.
Does the subject associated with a knowledge base (kb) article affect how knowledge base articles are presented online, or is this only affected by the category entity?
When a customer/ user searches the kb, does the subject and the category get searched or does it perform differently depending on how they are accessing the kb?
How do people currently use the subject and the category in conjunction with each other? It seems they are both used for categorisation but other than the technical differences which the article "die-subject-die" explains, I can't understand how a business would define the differences between the two groupings for users creating subjects, categories and knowledge base articles.
The difference between Subject and Category is well explained in the below article.
crmtipoftheday.com/.../die-subject-die
Subject is bit painful when it comes to customisation and maintenance and it can be used only for few entities related to articles and sales literature where as category entity gives lot of flexibility and can be used for both System and custom entities. It can even be used to categorise related entities.
Thanks,
