We just changed our account structure from a xxxx-xxxx to a xxxx-xxxx-xxxx system. We used the PSTL tool to merge and combine the accounts. The only issue we have now is we messed up on a few accounts and merged a few account by mistake. Now we need to break those accounts back out. Is there an easy way to do this? We thought we would have to make general ledger entries but it would have to go way back into history and we can't post that far back in history. Any help would be appreciated.

Based on what you have described, I think your options are:
1. Restore from a back up and re-do your changes (taking out the incorrectly combined accounts).
2. Work with Microsoft Professional Services (through your GP Partner) to re-open your historical years. This will be a chargeable service, so depending on how many years back you need to open and the size of your data, this could be a significant cost. Once the years are open, you can post any changes needed, then re-close them.
