Hi all,
for a customer of mine we have the issue, that before the go-live, a lot of production relevant data is already created in the environment (e.g. hundreds of thousands of accounts) and also many thousands of projects.
before the go-live we have to delete all the projects, but nothing else (accounts and many other entities need to remain).
is there any way, how to delete lets say 250 projects with a workflow or cloud flow?
or any other way?

Hi DynDan365,
Agree with Antti, whether your CE or F&O if the record has no dependencies (E.g. Posted GL transactions/Actuals) then deletion can be done easily. For 250 records you can do this manually by selecting the records and just deleting OR through Data Management in F&O/Directly in the Dataverse using the Data tools.
Once you have transacted the record is locked as you have dependant GL/Actual entries potentially with tax postings etc..
In this case the best option is to close the projects off and then filter them out of forms/views etc.

If those projects don't have dependencies you can delete them like you would any other rows in D365. Manually or with a workflow for example.
But if those projects have dependencies (for example time entries made against them), you're in a world of pain. Projects with dependencies can be difficult to nearly impossible to remove.
