Business process flow and Header Fields

Posted on by 550

Hi,

I have lead to opportunity business process flow . I have a requirement that the header fields in both lead and opportunity must be the same. Is it possible to do this only the opportunity that is created from lead ? Because the Opportunity that do not use this process must use different header fields.

Thanks!

    Hi,

just a quick not on that plugin approach.. It does not really work in 365 anymore (may work with the legacy forms, but they are getting deprecated)

The short answer to the question is, probably, "there is no way". Unless you use javascript to switch the forms depending on some conditions, but, usually, that does not look nice to say the least.. so, if you don't absolutely need it, I would try to avoid it. Maybe add those fields to the top of the opportunity form (add a section, put the fields.. won't be exactly a header, but will still be at the top)

    Hi Abhishek,

Is it possible carry the header fields from lead to opportunity form , without laying extra field in opportunity?

    Hi,

I believe you are talking about change of header field based on source of creation of opportunity - either lead to opportunity flow or manual opportunity creation.

Short answer will be No - we cant change header based on certain field.

However you can hide header field using JS but then it will hide the value and block will still remain which doesnt appear very good.

You can also have multiple form and then load it based on certain field value - but it require plugin and JS - untill it is very much required I dont think any value addition to that as well. You can refer here for this approach.

    Hi,

yes, because the lead which is qualified follow "lead to opportunity" business process flow, and if you need another business process flow for opportunity which does not created from lead , you create another business flow for the entity opportunity.

If you have many business flow, then one option is you can change the business flow by "switch process " button in opp entity . and if you need automatically the bpf change depending on some condition you can do it by js  follow these links how to change bpf by js  , might these help you :
