Is it possible to disable the drop-down on the 'Description' field, on the Journal lines? I.e. the user wants to just enter free text, and not have the option to select from a list.

Goto AOT and open this form then delete relation of table description and table journal line.

Hi,

Can't you simply delete all journal descriptions that have been setup in the journal descriptions form in the GL setup area?

Then there will be no / an empty lookup.

Hi James,

It is possible to enter free text any time. I never tried to disable the lookup, but you can try to restrict access to the table with the default transaction texts.
