No timeline in Projects?

Posted on by 123

Not sure what to think of this. I cannot see a place for people working on a project to see all related emails, calls, meetings etc. Did the designers think once the opportunity has been quoted and a contract has been made the collaboration stops. And once you have setup the project there is no need for project related emails, notes, Teams meeting and calls? or should we use the won opportunity for that?

What am I missing here?

Surely during the delivery of the project even more interactions are made and we really need a place to pull all that data together no?

    Hi Jurgen,

You can add the Timeline inside the Projects table to track relevant items. Now, Opportunities would keep its own Timeline (since that is Opportunities/Sales information).

Just like any other module of Dynamics you can enable a Teams button to drive the Wizard to create a Teams channel (manually) or create a Flow that creates a Team group every time a Project hits a certain stage.

That's a way to keep sales and project separate from each other.

Let me know if this answers your question.

I'd like to see some recommended use cases for how the system was intended for collabs, too. You can initiate SharePoint but it has to be done at the systems level and that always makes me nervous.

I'm surprised there isn't a Teams integration that could create a project team on the fly with all team members and few other details.
