Customer does not exist in the query messagebox

Posted on by 50

We just performed an upgrade from GP 10 to GP 2010.

Now when we save a note within the results of a Collections query we receive the followin message box. "Customer does not exist in the query."

This message box comes up when we add a note, save a note or refresh the screen.

The note does save or insert but this message is quite annoying and I need some help.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This issue is addressed with SP3 for GP 2010.

Finishing up a test upgrade and curious to see if I was having the same issue.  And sure enough, when you create a query when you go into the query and it is sorted by Customer ID you don't get the issue, but if you change the sort of the query list (total due or any of the other sorts) then you choose a customer, you get the error.  And no we do not have any modifications to Collection Management windows.  This looks like a bug in Great Plains.  I'm on GP2010 R2 SP with the latest SP:  MicrosoftDynamicsGP11-KB2552044-ENU.msp.  Looks like you found a bug in the system and not that many people have been changing the sort order.

Tristan, I rebuild the forms.dic and to no avail. I also talked to one of the employees who did all the costom forms in GP. He said that the form was not a custom form.

I am fairly new to GP but did search around looking fot the message "Customer does not exist in the query." in the VB Editior.

The form name is Customer_Notes_Main and I viewed it through Modifier. From there I am not sure where you would modify the code.

To get to this form I went to Sales->Collection Main and used a prebuilt query.

    Anyhow, thanks for trying Tristan

If you have any other ideas let me know...

    Thanks, Brian...

    Hi,

try re-creating your Forms.dic file.  From your screenshot, this is a modified Collections Management Main Window.

Let me know how this goes.

    Regards,

    Tristan
