Delete DU000030 Twice?

Posted on by 170

Hello,

We are upgrading to GP 2013 R2 from GP 2010 in two stages.  First, we have upgraded three companies.  Next, we plan to upgrade a fourth company.  We deleted the DU000030 table before starting the first upgrade stage.  Now that the portion of the upgrade is completed, do we delete the DU000030 again?

Thank you.

Gary

    RE: Delete DU000030 Twice?

Interesting, I just checked my DU000030 table after the latest 18.2 upgrade and I have 38 records left over.  filenumber of 813-816 for company -32767, 817-837 for company -1 and 817-837 for company 1. The prodid is zero for all records as is errornum, errordes and status. I can only assume a record gets added for each upgrade and service pack application. I have no idea for what this table is used. Does anyone know the purpose of this table and should it always be empty after a successful upgrade? I know its called the Utilities Fail List table so I can only assume it would contain upgrade failures but why is it not empty after the upgrade?

    RE: Delete DU000030 Twice?

I just upgraded a customer for the Year-End Canadian Payroll and the DU000030 table is holding 14 records, 2 for each company, each 2 records for 'fileNumber' 804 & 805, but all the other fields are of value 0 (aside of companyID of course)

I know this should mean that everything looks good after the upgrade, but I was often told too that prior to an upgrade (especially major version) this table should be empty.

If that's the case, why are there left-overs after an upgrade completed successfully ?

    RE: Delete DU000030 Twice?

Watching this thread gave me the idea to look at one of our client's DU00030 table. They have been a client since 1995. In this table there are 1403 record and 85 of them have a status of 15. This has never caused any issues with any upgrades over the years. The ProdID on all 15 is zero(DYNAMICS). Should I clear this table before the next upgrade? What does value in the field DU000030.filenumber mean?

    Gary,

If you didn't have any problems running utilities the DU0000030 should still be empty. You could confirm this by running select * from dynamics..DU0000030. I am pretty sure there will be no records returned and deleting the table will have no effect.

    Regards,

    Kirk

I had been advised by MS Tech Support that I should delete this table before initiating any upgrade using the Utilities.

    Gary,

If you didn't have any problems upgrading the databases you shouldn't need to delete the DU0000030 table again. It can be useful do delete this table if there is information from previous failed upgrades that you want to clear out before starting a fresh upgrade.

    Best regards,

    Kirk

I'd say no, but why did you delete DU000030 in the first place?
