Dear Madam/Sir,
What determines which items are included in the Master planning in D365 F&O?
I am testing the Master Planning functionality in D365 F&O. I have successfully generated several master plans with planned purchase orders but only for around 300+ items out of our 25000+ item portfolio. I am trying to specifically generate master planning output for some items, but fail to do so. The selected items do not show up (neither do the other 24700+ items).
I have tried several things as described below to trigger master plan output on the selected items:
- Analyze the 300+ items for which a master plan is generated. There does not seem to be any linking factor between the items, they are across various business units, high/low volume, different vendors, ... in general very similar settings. These 300+ items do not have a different coverage group setting than the other 24700+ items.
- Assign items to a specific test coverage group and put a filter (coverage group) on the masterplan to generate only for this test coverage group. No effect, no lines generated in masterplan.
- Put a filter (item number) on the masterplan to generate only for a coverage group. No effect, no lines generated in masterplan.
- Increase horizon of the masterplan to ensure that any existing inventory or purchase orders will be depleted and therefore planned purchase orders by the master plan are expected. No effect, no lines generated in masterplan.
- Include a high demand forecast such that planned purchase orders by the master plan are expected. No effect, no lines generated in masterplan.
- ...
I am running out of ideas. If someone could share some ideas/suggestions, I would much appreciate it.
Kind regards,
Koen
