Power BI in Business Central

Hi:

Does Microsoft Power BI allow for adding tables, later, after you have created a report?

I started a report and, then, clicked "Get Data" to add another table through the "Online Services" selection in order to try to pull in another Business Central table.

But, the window did not have the table "checked" that I had already had in the report.  It was as if I had to start over.  Thanks!

John

    could be a license issue.

can you use the new table in a page or report in BC, publish and use in the BC client?

It's not a license issue.  I have the same trouble in both free and Pro.

I don't understand your question.  Again, it appears as if you cannot add tables.  Also, it looks as if you will simply have to "know" if you're going to need more than one table upon first designing the report.  That's not good.  There's gotta be something that I'm not seeing or understanding.

I think you're not really understanding the whole concept...

The PowerBI connector for Business Central does not show tables, but ODATA web services. These are typically based on query or page objects.

When you do Get Data in PBI, the Query editor opens and lets you import data. The next time it will allow you to import more data.

All imported queries are visible in the Power Query Editor. In the Navigator, the popup that let's you select 'tables', you select what you want to import. It does not show what you have already imported. You can see that in the Power Query Editor.

Here's an example of how it works:
