Manufacturing Execution for D365F&O hardware recommendation

I'm in the process of implementing Manufacturing Execution and going through the hardware selection for a manufacturing company. Will need to make a recommendation on the preferred hardware for plant workers to clock-in. Looking for feedback or experience.

Thank you in advance!

Hi, it depends on the level of dirt and moisture in your manufacturing area. On a clean assembly desk you may install just the cheapest PC with a keyboard, a trackball and a USB handheld scanner; after all it must just  show a browser screen, no more.

In wet conditions, an expensive protected tablet may be required (touchscreen).

Moreover, what are you going to use: the good old Job card terminal or the new [lame] touchscreen Job card device?

Thanks for the response! We will be using some of both; employee clock-in/out (showing up to work) will be Job card device; the ones working on the machines will be using the Job card terminal to start/finish or update feedback. Was looking to see if there is a preferred industrial hardware that can handle the volume of people clock-in/out and compatible with MES job card device.

    This one worked: www.dell.com/.../latitude-7202-tablet

It's not about being compatible with D365FO. The D365FO window is just a browser.
