Azure Backup Failure - OnlineManagementAPI

Hi,

We want to utilize Azure backups in order to have greater control over our instance backups - especially to eliminate the 3 day expiration.

(https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoft.xrm.onlinemanagementapi/new-crmbackupinfo?view=dynamics365ce-ps)

We are receiving the same error described at the bottom of this article - for both of our instances

perationId       : 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000

Status            : FailedToCreate

Errors            : {Microsoft.Xrm.Services.Admin.Client.Models.ItemDescription}

Information       : {}

OperationLocation :

ResourceLocation  :

Context           : Microsoft.Xrm.Services.Admin.Client.Models.OperationContext

VERBOSE: Exiting GetCrmCurrencys - ProcessRecord : 00:00:02.4080422

Has anybody come across the GetCrmCurrencys failure previously and resolved?

Thanks,
LJ

    I am facing the same problem with powershell script when I create Dynamics 365 instance backup to Azure Storage(BLOB). I got the same error as you.

    When I checked with online management webapi, I got this json response.

    {"OperationId":"00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000","Status":"FailedToCreate","Errors":[{"Subject":"validation","Description":"There is already a backup running for this instance. Check the status and then try again when the backup has completed."}],"Information":[],"OperationLocation":null,"ResourceLocation":null,"Context":{"Items":{"InstanceState":"Pending"}}}

    Please If you find som information please resons here.

    I have registered a support request on the new support portal for Dynamics, https/admin.dynamics.com. I spoke to MS today, and the reqest has now been sendt to to the correct department, and I will report back here as well.

    Hi Goofy,

    I logged a service request to MS about this issue, and was notified that Azure backups are disabled for V9 and above instances.

    Frustrating, but it sounds like it is something they will (re)enable in the future.

    Cheers.

    Last update from Microsoft support. This is for version 9.x. If you create an insident on the new support portal, https://admin.dynamics.com, the customer can request a restore that is older than 3 days. For details, ask Support.
