Hide standard actions in ribbon

Posted on by 566

Is there a way using code I might disable standard action buttons in the ribbon of a page?

I dont want users to mess with some of them such as: find, update, show as graphic, attachments, notes...

Even I get in the page throught -configure option at starting nav, I keep getting all those buttons back everytime we modify the page.

You should use "Configuration Mode" to setup default user's UI.

when starting nav with parameter -configure you run the client in configuration mode. in that mode you can set UI settings for the current loaded profile. that's right. normally that works quite good. e.g. the "show as chart" button should stay hidden, when you remove it from the ribbon after a restart of the client.

if that does not work, then it could be a metadata issue.

i tested wth nav 2016 cu 1 sales order list, made some UI changes in the ribbon. worked fine. if that works correctly or not can depend on the build version.

    solution options for you:

    * restart nav service and windows client, also restart sql server service !

    * remove according record in tables object metadata and profile metadata (filter for the page id)

    * recompile all nav objects, restart nav service again
