Need some suggestions regarding how to setup Business Alerts to work in our Dynamics V10 environment using SQL 2005 (32 bit) with a cluster db config.

We are already using Database Mail via SQL Agent for some other developed alert and mail processes.

When attemping to test our developed BA's we get the message that xp_sendmail needs an Outlook profile. We do not have Outlook installed on the sql cluster and really do not want to if it can be avoided.

The recommendations in SQL Books seem to indicated we should avoid using either SQL Mail or xp_sendmail. Is their a way to get our sql environment to use Business Alerts via Database Mail ?

I realize this is an old question, but if you do not have an answer yet, then check out this blog post, specifically the link it contains to documentation on customer source on using the new database mail. The direct link to the KB on customer source is 915097.

No, but there is an alternative.

Call VineyardSoft and ask about KnowledgeSync. And tell them I said call (I promise they will not raise the price if you do ;) )
