lookup field render error from app

Posted on by 50

Hi everyone,

when I open optionalattendees lookup field in my Appointment creation module from Dynamics app , an error loading control occurs.

This is the error message:

Custom Control with Id: MscrmControls.FieldControls.SimpleLookupControl failed to render; Message: this._lookupParameter.getTargetEntityNames is not a function

When I access this lookup field from Dynamics , it works.

Thanks in advance

Hi, has anyone found any solution for that? In our environment both Required and Optional Attendees fields are broken with info Error Loading Control. There were few updates already but still nothing. We reported this issue to MS but still waiting for some fix.

    Hi Arnaud,

we are experiencing the same issue and I'll try to respond if we come across any solutions. This is happening in the unified interface for us as well, but as you mentioned, classic interface is fine.

    Hi Arnaud,

unfortunately I didn't find a solution because the lookupitem type is not recognized in the responsive interface. I suppose it is created in a js not included.

There is a web page where are listed all not compatible types (I don't remember the link ) and one of these is the lookup item type.

This type is used to listed result of the search.

I am working on this issue, if I'll find a solution (as disable the lookup ) I  will share it on this forum.

    bye

    Hi Eugenia

I got the exact same issue. It impacts both optionnal and required attendees fields. Did you manage to find a solution to this issue ?

Errors occur on the mobile app and on the web unified interface. But not on the classic web interface.

Attendee Fields  were working fine until few days ago so I guess there is something wrong with a recent customization. But I have no clue or whatsoever.

As written in the following blog , not all of controls can be used from a mobile device because of client side scripting is not compatible

    dynamicscrmcoe.com/custom-controls-for-crm-phone-and-tablet-app

I am looking for a solution because i must use a Lookup control but it seems to be not available.

    Hi,

Try "Publish All Customization" & "Prepare All Customization" under Settings >> Customization >> Customize the system. Once done, logout and log in in. If possible, try reinstalling the app.

You can also test the Mobile view from the browser using the steps mentined in below blog. This will help you isolate if the issue is becasue of customization or mobile client.

    Check this blog- community.dynamics.com/.../testing-the-dynamics-365-crm-app-without-device.

    Hope this helps.
