Payment Journal Posting Error

Printed Checks Successfully.  Trying to post and receiving the following error;

Amount must be positive in Gen. Journal Line Journal Template Name=PAYMENT, Journal Batch Name=CHECK,Line No=30000

The check in question has two lines, two amounts, one debit and one credit.  The check was printed with the Net of the two.  It seems that the Credit Line is the issue but how do I fix it so that the entires can post?

    RE: Payment Journal Posting Error

    This is a known issue in NAV/BC. If you are using payment journal to include credit memos in payments, you must use one of these approached:

    1. If using Suggest Vendor Payments, Summarize per vendor
    2. If entering manually, create one payment journal line per vendor and select to Apply Entries. Set Applies-to ID on each invoice and credit memo to include.

    End result in either method is one payment journal line per vendor with the net of invoices and credit memos and as long as a positive amount, the journal will post.

    D365 allows a functionality via Data management to upload breakdown of payments. The input is list of invoices and amount paid on the invoice by the customer. The upload process will settle the invoice/payment automatically. Data Entity to be used “Customer payment journal line settled invoice.
