Mass delete/change/etc

We are discontinuing numerous products (500)...and would like to remove them from our system.  Is there a 'quick' way to go through and delete these, without have to cycle through every product and deleting individually?

    If you change the item type to DISCONTINUED you can delete the discontinued items when you close inventory for the year. The transaction history is not deleted, it just removes the item from the master files. Pretty slick. Of course you can't have any quantities in inventory for this to work.
