New Hire Reporting in GP

Posted on by 285

I am needing to setup a state required New Hire reporting.  I want the file to upload using the state website which calls for an ASCII fixed width file.  I can export the information needed from the Smartlist, but I can't get it into the appropriate file format required by the state.  How does everyone else deal with their New Hire reporting?

    Hi Radean,

We use Crystal Reports. I never tried it with report writer because it was easier just to write a select statement to retrieve the data we needed

    Kind regards,

I have recommended Greenshades to clients with large turnover rates and\or multiple states.   For smaller employers they key the information on their states website (they create a list in Smartlist).

Would you mind telling me what kind of report they have?  Is it a report generated by the canned report writer in GP, or do they use another reporting software.

    Hi Radean,

My clients have a report written, not smartlist, that pulls the correct data and builds the required fixed length field report.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
