We are interested in tying together Dynamics SL and SharePoint workflows and have a couple of capability questions before we decide to go down this path:
- In an ideal world, we would take a new Vendor Invoice, enter the data in SL, attach a PDF of the invoice and then have Dynamics SL start a SharePoint Workflow to obtain approval to pay the invoice from the appropriate person.
So in order to accomplish that I am wondering:
1. Can Dynamics SL be configured to start a SharePoint workflow?
2. Can Dynamics SL be configured with a unique document library for each different vendor that we have in order to store the PDF of the invoice (we currently have one SharePoint site per vendor). The SharePoint configuration screen (98.400.00) makes it appear that all invoices will be stored in the same location. If this cannot be accomplished then we are willing to use the Link functionality instead.
Our current partner does not seem to know a lot about SharePoint in general... From my research it appears that there is a SharePoint Web Service for SL (or is this the installation of SharePoint) that might provide the capabilities that we are looking for. Does anyone know where we might be able to find some documentation on this service?
