Install Issue - GP 10.0 SP4 on Win 7 32-bit

Posted on by 1,405

I am having trouble installing GP 10.0 on a clean new Windows 7 32-bit Enterprise computer.

All the components install except for "Microsoft Application Error Reporting 11.0"
Initialization failed. Review the log file for more details...

- I tried using the GP10 Feature Pack 1 DVD with Service Pack 4 & 5 and see the same problem
- I tried again using "Run as administrator", same error.
- Again, with compatibilty mode, XP SP3
- Tried running "dw20shared.msi". Shows "Gathering required information" then goes away.
- Googled, but did not find any solutions

What failing and how do I get past it?

    David,

Do you have administrative rights for the computer?  If not, try to "Run as Administrator".  You might also want to turn off UAC if it is on and see if that helps.

    Regards,

    Aaron
