Dexterity sanScript issue

Posted on by

I am sure I have seen a solution to this before, many years ago. I have a 3rd party dictionary with a form.  On the form is a button.  I rewrote the change script on the button and compiled it (because I changed the table layout and one of the fields no longer existed in the table).  When I compile the code, I get no errors and everything looks to be correct.  But when I run the form in debug mode, I get an error stating that the field doesn't exist.  Somehow, the compiled version of the script doesn't match the source code.  I have tried deleting the script and recreating it but I am still getting the same error.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

mavrick5au

    That should read:

So, now I have 2 change scripts and for some reason the BarginList_Maint compiled code is running even though it doesn't match the source code.  I have recompiled without fixing it

I have found the problem, sort of!!

I had a form called BarginList_Maint, which I deleted as it was obsolete and no longer in use.

It had a change script on a save button which is the one returning the error.

I have another form called SaleList_Maint, which also has a save button.  The script names are the same on both forms and for some reason although I have deleted one form, the script hasn't deleted with it.  So, now I have 2 change scripts and for some reason the SaleList_Maint compiled code is running even though it doesn't match the source code.  I have recompiled without fixing it.  I assume it is something to do with the internal resource numbers that dexterity uses.

I did try a Synchronize but it didn't do anything.

This is not a GP dictionary.  It is a stand alone application.

I tried copying the code from to an procedure and calling the procedure from the button, but I didn't delete the button from the form.  I will give that a try too.

Create a combined dictionary and test this on directly from GP and check whether the error appears or not.

    Your reply is much appreciated.

    Hope this helps!!!

Did you try removing and readding the button to the window. And add the change script after that?
