Yes Dynamics NAV have the functionality you are looking for.

In Sales & Receivables Setup of NAV there is Credit Warnings.- if it is set to "No Warning" then it does not matter even if there is an amount set up in Customer Card for credit limit or not, system will not check anything.

If you have set it to YES then system will check the credit limits and show you a warning message. This is just a warning message with Yes, No button. So user can proceed even the credit limits are exceed.

If you want to hold the transaction you can remove the 'Yes' button from the form and user will not be able to proceed further.

After you Set the setup in Sales & Receivables you need to add the credit limit for each customer. This can be done using customer card.

There is 'Credit Limit' Field in Customer Cards.

In Sales & Receivables Setup, General Fast tab.

You can choose not to have warnings telling you that the customer's credit limit has been exceeded.
