Users company field vs assign organizatiin

Hi,

If I have a user with one role 

What's the difference between

1. Filling company field alone in users form

2. Leaving company field empty in users form

3. Leaving company field empty and filling assign organization to specific legal entity 

4. Filling company field with a value in users form. Then click assign organization to all legal entities

What will happen in each case?

    Hi Junior AX,

    1. The Company field on the user details is a default which will set the company when opening the application and no override of the company was set in the URL parameters. The user can select any another company from the company list in the header.

    2. It will open as default the first legal entity it can find with particular assumptions. In my demo environment it looks like the first company not used for consolidation purposes. Again, the user can select another company to work in.

    3. The Assign organizations is not changing the default startup company. It will restrict which legal entities can be used for the particular role assignment.

    4. See point 3 and 1. It will have a default company and it will restrict access per role for particular companies.

    Hi Andre,

    So what will happen if I put the company field as legalEntity1-- which as u said it's going to be the default entity to log in with

    Then if I put assign organization as legalEntity2?

    Now there is a contradiction so what will happen in this case?

    Will it throw error once I log in where I need to change the company then?

    Hi Junior AX,

    It will not throw an error. It will open legalEntity1, but the menu items will not be visible. Only when the user will switch to legalEntity2, this person will see the menu items part of the security role.
