I have an issue when dragging and dropping work orders on the Schedule Board. After I drop the WO on a new time slot, it refreshes and it gets automatically re-assigned to another slot. For example, I have these work orders:
Let's say I want to move STOP14003 to 9:00 AM:
So I drop it there and, after the board automatically refreshes a second later, I get something like this:
It got actually scheduled to 6:00 AM and placed next to STOP14006, which is not what I wanted.
At first I thought it was somehow related to time zones, but everything I'm using is on the same Time Zone, and that weird automatic scheduling is not really consistent with any time zone change. I'm thinking there has to be a setting at play here, maybe the estimated date, or the promised date, something is affecting the drag and drop. So my question is what happens in the background exactly after a drag and drop? how can I disable the logic that is making my bookings flip out and get scheduled to a wrong time?
Thanks!
Thanks Vinay and Scott. I still have the same issue but I'm happy with the horizontal view and that's working perfectly. I'll try to open up a support case at Microsoft when I get a bit more of time and see if they can shed some light on this. I'm using Edge, that's the browser all users will be using:
I can not reproduce either. What browser are you using? I’ve noticed, in the past, some issues with a particular browser. Once I reset the browser settings my issues went away.
Hi chrams,
Sorry for the experience you are facing with the Drag and drop on the Hourly Vertical view. I am unable to reproduce this behavior in a my Field Service Dynamics instance. I can successfully drag and drop the Bookings for the Workorders from one time to another and also from one Resource to another.
I would suggest you to raise a support request for this issue to get it investigated.
Also, as you already confirmed, please continue to use Hourly horizontal view to get unblocked on your scheduling.
Thanks,
Vinay Nalam

Just a quick update on this. It looks like this is only an issue when I use the Vertical View on the Schedule Board. I switched to Horizontal and I haven't had any issues. I'll do more testing, anybody knows if there's a known bug around this?
