Adding a product that get its value based of an other products value

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I created a product, hourly rate, which multiplies the amount of the product with the quantity (which is being filled in when the product is added).

Though, over this Hourly Rate product the customers should also be able to add a percentage over the hours (quantity) of the product above.

So lets say I got product A which sells for 10$ an hour and the product is being added with a quantity of 5 = 5 x 10$ = 50$

Now product B, I think it should be a product because it has its own pricing, is a percentage of the hours of the above and sells for 12$ an hour.

Lets say B is 50% of the quantity of A = 2,5, now the sum of B would be: 2,5 x 12$ = 30$

This should be 2 separate product lines in a quote (or wherever the product is being added).

Is there any way I can achieve this with the existing Unit/products/price-list functions in dynamics online?

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction! Did some custom coding and workflows already so I will go for that option, just thought there might be a standard automated function for it already.

This is all possible. All the above can be entered manually by a CRM user. It is also possible to automated some of this (for example, if product A is added, automatically add product B with 50% of the quantity), though that will probably need code, either in a plugin or custom workflow activity
