What are the best steps to create a test version of the CRM database? Does something have to change in any "settings" tables to ensure the front-end web application is not confused?
Thanks

Thanks to both of you for your responses. Do you know of any recommended online videos (for example, you tube) that show an example of this process
In addition to Alex's response above, If you are using IFD, your organization names will be different.
One thing that we do not to confuse users, is create a different logo for Dev/Test/Stage/Production and store that in a different theme. That way users also see TEST/STAGE written out when they are non in the production environment.
Hi,
you can create multiple organizations per CRM server - each organization will have its own database:
technet.microsoft.com/.../dn920256.aspx
If you wanted to use a copy of the existing database, you can restore your current organization database to a new database, and, then, import it to CRM(using deployment manager)
In both cases, you'll have a different organization on a new URL (server/org_name)
