Accounts has a 1:N relationship with a custom entity OrigAcc. Can I use a calculated field on Accounts to count the number of active records in OrigAcc relating to that Account and if so how ?

Hi Pete,
Yes, but this I recommend you to use rollup field.
While you can create the condition to calculate only the child record by Active status.
Thanks.
CRM 2015 Rollup Fields is the best option. It supports custom 1:N custom entities.
Dear PeteN,
For CRM 2015, you can use Rollup field to achieve your requirement.

Hi Pete,
You could add a sub-grid to your Account screen which displays the related OrigAcc records. If you had 20 records against 'Account1' then it would display the count in the grid for you as seen at the bottom left of the screenshot below and you can use a relationship to ensure it shows just the active accounts. I hope this answers your question.
