Chart of Accounts error System Message 6909

Hi there,

When trying to make a change to any record on the Chart of Accounts Maintenance screen the user gets the following error:-

5076.Error.png

The record exists in the Company Account table but not in the System AcctxRef table so i added it there but still get the error.

I tried to make a change to the description to force it to resave everything but still get the error.

There is lots of triggers on the Acctxref table that update the other company databases.

Please help!

    Hi Jo,

Switching authentication methods for the system database involved between Windows and SQL authentication will also rebuild triggers. You would switch authentication settings in Database Maintenance, which will update the appropriate triggers, then run DB Maintenance to switch back again. Running the rebuild triggers script would be faster if you have the script.

If you look at the SQL logs you may see that the SQL account attempting to update the cross reference tables in the system DB was reporting an access rights error.

You will have to create a case in support.

We have a script that will fix the issue

The rebuild_triggers.sql script should be ran against the system database. That will rebuild the triggers if the database is windows authenticated. Any triggers that don’t belong will be removed, and any that are missing will be created. This will also sync the acctxref table with the vs_acctxref table or view. Any stray records in the view will be deleted. Once you complete that script, go into the chart of accounts maintenance screen. Change the description of the first account. Save the change. Then change it back and save the change again. That will refresh the acctxref table, adding any records that are missing and should not be.

I cannot upload the script in the forum, unfortunately.

    Thank you
