Microsoft moving Email Description to Azure Blog Storage

I read an article about Microsoft's data migration from Dataverse relation store to Azure Blob storage for all customers. It was expected to start in May 2023 - can anyone confirm if this has started by now? Supposedly, all email descriptions older than twelve months will be moved into Azure Blob storage automatically, and this twelve month transition period cannot be changed.

Also, any idea how well this will work and if it will be cheaper in the long run? This would not move email and note attachments, right?

I would like to analyze if this solution would still make sense, taking into account these changes: CB Dynamics 365 Seamless Attachment Extractor.
