Hi. I am trying to clean up Roles within Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. How do you hide roles that are not being used within your organization?
Hi GeorgiaWisc,
Why do you want to hide the unused roles?
Can not hide the role. You need to delete it.
Use the report path System administration > Inquiries > Security > Role to user assignments to display which role is used to which user. If the role is not displayed, that means the role is not used.
Moved this case to D365 finance forum: community.dynamics.com/.../765
Not too many users should ever see the list of roles. So there should not be any reason for hiding them.
Hi Georgia,
In fact, you can use the security configuration form and delete the not used roles. If you delete roles o this form which are created in Visual Studio, it will delete them from the UI only. If fact, they will be disabled. You can get them back using the configuration form again.
Roles created as part of the configuration will be fully deleted, so make sure you have a backup.
Like above mentioned, you don't really have to delete not used roles. I haven't seen people really using this option.
This will help out. Much appreciated
