Integration Manager - Journal Entry Adapter

Posted on by 45

I am trying to integrate a 40 + line entry. The integration fails because the source file lists a single Journal Entry Number, but each line of the source is being treated as a stand-alone entry, so an error message is generated that the distributions are out of balance for every line. I have also tried making the Journal Number a Constant, which did not work either.

There must be something I need to do to indicate

I have tried adding the Journal Number to the sorting screen, but I believe there is another setup element I need to make this integration work properly.

I agree with Beat on this one,

This is the solution that works for us all the time. Using one file as the source, you create two different Integrations.

Create a one liner - as the header - filter the data file for one specific account number.

Create the balance (including the first line) as the detail - use the Journal Number as the link between the two.  The date would work if you only ever were going to have a single Journal Entry at a time.  Even if you had to add this value to each line, for me it works all the time.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Mike,

Have you tried to split the source into a header & detail parts (using the same input file)  and create a relationship based on the date field for example ?
