Post Activity Record with Remarks if Case is Cancelled or Status is Changed

Hi Team,

I'm using MS Dynamics 365 Version 1612 (8.2.1.207) (DB 8.2.1.207) online. And I wanted to see If you know solutions for the following:

I'm trying to customize Case process:

I1.) Please advise how I can have pop-up quick form, in which I can set Status of cancellation and also add Remarks, so this information is posted as an Activity Record - same as when Resolving the Case:

a) Cancel the case, enter Remarks:

b) Then have them displayed as an activity:

2.) Additionally, is it possible to have a pop-up quick window in which i have to enter a note if I change sub-status of the case:

Hi,

you can't customize those system dialogs (those are among a few things you can't do: http://www.itaintboring.com/dynamics-crm/what-you-cannot-do-in-dynamics/ )

So your options for #1 might be:

- Create your own ribbon button using Ribbon Workbench and use javascript+, maybe, HTML web resource to implement your own "cancel case" dialog

- Add a few fields to the case form and use a workflow to close a case when those fields are populated

For #2, it looks like you'll need javascript as well. You might attach "onchange" event handler to that field and use "prompt" method to capture the note:

Then you might create a note through javascript.. Or you might put that captured note into a new hidden field on the case form and use a workflow to create an actual note when the case is saved.
