You can control list entities by using security roles of the users, there is no configuration to show/hide entities from recent items.So you have to control this using security roles only. You can refer more details about security roles here: docs.microsoft.com/.../security-roles-privileges

Can you provide more details what do you mean by hide elements ?? do you want to hide some fields ?? you can control your data visibility using js or field level security .

do you need to hide is specifically form a role - then you simply remove permission to that entity from that particular role. all reference to that entity will be removed.
