Upgrade GP 9 to 2010

Posted on by 110

I want to upgrade my GP 9 to the version GP 2010. i have applied a hotfix to be able to do that upgrade.
Now the version of my GP is : Version 9.00.0372

When I rin GP utilities, i receive the following error :

FB: Bad Component offset Form:22010 Wind: 22000Fld: 14

Can someone help me to resolve this issue ?

Thanks

Rachis

    Francisco,

I agree. Often these error messages are because of bad/old Forms dictionaries. If I'm interpreting the message correctly, Form 22010 is a third party form, window 22000 is a third party window. So, I would be careful of any modified forms in some other dictionary.

You might have a non updated FORMS.DIC dictionary, try moving out the FORMS.DIC file out of your GP folder and try your upgrade again,

One thing to recommend is before doing an upgrade export all customizations from GP, then do the upgrade if it fails on the customizations you can always remove the customized dictionaries and then proceed and after the upgrade is complete you can import back the exported customizations.

I've done some investigating. It looks like the patch you applied is the 2009 US Year End update, so I don't need to know which hotfix you applied anymore.

If you could try to explain the steps you took to get to the error message, that would be helfpul.

I can try to help you, but I need some more information.

    What hotfix did you apply?

What version of GP 9 were you on before you applied the hotfix?

At what point in GP Utilities did you receive the error? (before logging in, during the DYNAMICS database upgrade, during the company database upgrade, etc...)
