If you have an issue a-la: The item cannot be deleted via the User Interface or extension, then
the reason could be the specific chars in the fields of type "Code".
As an example, CRLF chars in item No.
If speak about on-prem version, then you could see such items via query:
select [$systemId] from [dbo].[… $Item$437dbf0e-84ff-417a-965d-ed2bb9650972] WHERE [No_] LIKE '%' + CHAR(13)+CHAR(10)
You can fix it in on-prem version:
update [dbo].[… $Item$437dbf0e-84ff-417a-965d-ed2bb9650972]
set No_ = 'new No. without CRLF chars'
WHERE [$systemId] = 'system id for problem item'
BUT in the Cloud version you cannot manipulate with SQL directly.
Need to create a support request for MS and etc..
As advice for avoid such case:
---
Sanitize the data before running the cloud migration. A user can run this command in On-Prem instance
$result = Invoke-NAVSanitizeField -ServerInstance YOURSERVERINSTANCE -Tenant YOURTENANT
All versions from v14. have this command enabled
Invoke-NAVSanitizeField (Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Management) - Dynamics NAV | Microsoft Docs
