1> Is there any other method to debug a plugin , other than using plugin profiler to log the error file and attaching the VS process to PluginRegistration.exe?

The only other method (for CRM online) is to start using tracing:
community.dynamics.com/.../implementing-tracing-in-your-crm-plug-ins
You can always just throw an InvalidPluginExecutionException if you need something "quick and dirty"..

Using profiler is good.
As mentioned below by Alex, you can use new Tracing feature.
You can use throw invalidpluginexecutionexception.
You can also separate your business logic into another file.
Invoke the methods in the business logic using test methods or a test harness console application (of course you have to simulate the context data)
