The company I am working they always use very few items when they create SO. I think at the time they installed the system item card had been customized. Now when they are going to select items when creating the SO following message appears.

"Item Unit Price can't be zero for Item No. 2420C "

Then when we go to item card and changed it then sys doesn't allow us to select that item.

Pls tell us what to do. Thanks.

    Hi,

    This looks like again customization did on Item variant . Go to Item Card--> Variants--> Check whether you have assigned Unit of Measure .As well as check on Item card whether unit of measure is assigned.

    Thank you. When I enter unit price it gave me following message

    "The item variant unit of Measure does not exist. Identification fields and values:

    Item No=2325A ;Variant Code= 10", code='PC'"

    To me it looks like a customization, aimed to prohibit to select items with a zero unit price, however it looks like you are still missing some setup even if you fill in the unit price on the item card. Perhaps, you also need to fill in the sales price list as Paul suggested. Please post here the second message or use debugger to check the exact reason for the error. Most likely, you would need to check modified triggers on the Sales Line table (e.g., OnInsert) and comment that verification if you do not need that, or fill in all the needed info on item card.

    If you choose a different item on the Sales Order and then try to change the unit price on the Sales Line to 0.00 do you get the same error?  If so have you also checked for a price of 0.00 being inadvertently specified in the Sales Price table (from the Item, Navigate or Related Info, Sales Prices) as that would override whatever is set on the Item Card itself?

    EDIT: Actually, in my test this doesn't override anything set on the Item Card, but it might be worth checking anyway.

    Let us know what error message you are getting once you changed the price and do you know how to activate the debugger to find the code which is causing the issue ? If not please check this blog

    yes I have changed unit price in the item card. Then tried to select the relevant item. But sys doesn't allow me to select that item too. I am sorry I forgot the message appeared after the change .

    I believe there is a customization not to select an item if the price is zero, have you tried entering a unit price on the item and then select it.

    They have so many created items. But there are so many items when creating the SO they can't select the relevant item no in the SO lines. Above message appears all the time.

    What do you mean by they cannot select that item from the item card ? do they get an error or they don't find that item ?
