Sales Order with multiple picking work ID by Duplicate Shipment/Load ID's

Hi Community

Occasionally, I will get a sales order that has 2 or more picking work created for it.  It will have different work id's,  but the shipment and load id's will be the same.
The work may have been created on the same day or days apart.

For example,  I have an order with 5 items,  the first pick work contains 1 of the items,  the second pick work, created 5 days later, contains the remaining 4 items.

Can anyone explain why the load and shipment id's are the same and not unique?

Thanking you in advance.

    Good day,

Do you have a shipment consolidation policy configured?

    Best regards,

    Hi,

Loads/shipments group the order, while work IDs represent individual picking tasks — so multiple work with same load/shipment is normal behavior.

    Hi,

Yes, this possible and totally fine. There are all kinds of scenarios which you can achieve with respect to how items, works, shipments and loads are grouped.

It's a design thing and there are many setups which control it. Shipment consolidation policies and Consolidate loads at wave processing to name a few.

I just recreated your scenario where two works which belong to same order, shipment and load.

It's also possible to have them in completely unique shipment and loads. It's all in the setups.
