Cross Linked Notes Problem in GP

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone,

             I read the blog by Dave Musgrave titled "Understanding Notes and the Note Index field"

Link = http://blogs.msdn.com/b/developingfordynamicsgp/archive/2009/06/03/understanding-notes-and-the-note-index-field.aspx

I think I am having a related problem. But I dont know how to resolve this.

I have a custom window with two fields "User Defined Table Value" and "Process Hold ID". Buoth these are global fields in the Dynamics dictionary. I have a record note attached to my primary field - "User Defined Table Value". Everything works fine on this window. I can attach , retrive and detach record level notes. But I noticed that when I assign a note to the User Defined Table Value field, say for example at that time, the Process Hold ID on my window is set to a value "CREDIT" . When I open the SOP Process Holds window and browse to the record "CREDIT" , I can find that same notes that I attached on my custom window.

Infact, anywhere there is a Process Hold ID field in Dynamics window, everywhere the Notes I had attached to the USer Defined Table Value field of my custom window, is attached now to the Process Hold ID field.

How can I prevent this from happening?

Thanks

Meena
