January data not pulling into report designer

I recently joined a company that recently turned over all non-clerical accounting staff, so there is no one who has any knowledge of GP or report designer other than me, and I have never closed or opened a fiscal year.

I closed the previous year in AP, and opened the new year (I hope), but just went to run January reports in report designer and no data is showing up for January. The column layout and period are correct.

Does anyone know what could be wrong here?

If you can post a screen shot of your column definition it will allow us to help you much quicker.

Closing AP does not affect closing fiscal years. How do you produce your financial reports? Are you using Management Reporter or the old Advanced Financials?
