Unable to run year end close

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

When i was running year end close it gave me a message "You must run the consolidated transaction and transfer detail to history utility for closed years to recreate Analytical Accounting balance brought forward"

I went to utilities to run consolidate and transfer detail to history but it gave me this error too " The setup information for the retained earnings account is changed. Cannot consolidate the analysis information."

Please how do i resolve this issue?

Thank you

God bless

RE: Unable to run year end close

    Hello,

I'm having the same issue. We have update the incorrect aacopystatus but still received the same message.

Did anyone find the solution for this issue?

Hello,  I found right now the solution, You need update the field aaCopyStatus in table AAG40001

This is the step 5 of The Year-end close procedures for Analytical Accounting in Microsoft Dynamics GP.

    SOLUTION:

    STEP 5: UPDATE AACOPYSTATUS VALUES

Next check for an incorrect aacopystatus value in the AAG40001 table. Run this script:

select count(*) from AAG40001 where aaCopyStatus<>8

If the script above returns results you will want to update the aaCopyStatus to '8' before running the GL Year Close: (The value of '8' is a value that the year-end close process will accept.)

    update AAG40001 set aaCopyStatus=8

This's the unique step that you need.

    Regards,

    Luis Mauricio

RE: Unable to run year end close

For me, I was able to fix this by looking at the "The Year-end close procedures for Analytical Accounting" - support.microsoft.com/.../960356

After verfiying there were no year overlaps, and no duplicate aaGLHdrId's, I DID find incorrect aaCopyStatus records. After fixing these, we were able to run the year end close. I don't believe that the error message was accurately describing our issue.

METHOD 1 - Check the AA data

    Step 3

Next check for an incorrect aacopystatus value in the AAG40001 table. Run this script:

select count(*) from AAG40001 where aaCopyStatus<>8

If the script above returns results you will want to update the aaCopyStatus to '8' before running the GL Year Close:

    update AAG40001 set aaCopyStatus=8

do you know what information was changed for the retained earnings account?  can you put the original information back in and try the second process?
