hide department menu for parts of user

Dear,

Can i hide department menu for parts of user but can show it when open configuration mode. Thanks.

    I did this earlier using configuration mode and hiding the department that's it instead of removing it.

    Hi Maggie,

    As JAngle suggested, make sure you have a backup of profile.

    Create a profile for concerned user by copying the existing profile and then do the configuration.

    For Example "ORDER PROCESSOR-USER1"

    You can take a backup or copy from Profile Card as shown below.

    Tread with caution when removing the “departments” selection from a user profile. Can only be returned if you reset defaults or by removing data in the back end.

    A safe, but high maintenance, option would be to have a copy version of the profile with the button intact. Then when changes are needed you do it from the copy and then you can drop the “departments” selection in the new version. If that approach is too cumbersome then enhanced permissions might be more suitable at page level or use security filters - even if a user can get to a page like CoA they would only see a certain filter set of records.
